Dornan’s village in Moose, WY (South end of Grand Teton National Park) holds a “Hootenanny” every Monday night.

Mondays, 6:00 pm.

Cost is FREE.

Definition of “Hootenanny”. According to Google Dictionary:

“…an informal gathering with folk music and sometimes dancing.”

It’s from 6-9pm every Monday, and in the summer, it is held outside by the Chuckwagon (all other seasons, it’s in the Spur Bar which is inside The Pizza Pasta Company Restaurant).

At Dornan’s Hootenanny, musicians and spectators gather for an open mic night, where any musician is welcome to place their name in a can to be drawn to play. Music is often country, folk, old-time, and bluegrass, originals and covers, with an occasional departure depending on the musician. Each musician, if drawn from the can, is limited to playing two songs.

There is a small bar to the side and you can sit at the tables.

So come for a relaxing evening of music, (enter to play and/or sing if you want to) have a drink (and/or dinner – to go order from Pasta and Pizza) while looking at the Tetons!

Per-fect-ion!!!

Know Before You Go

  • To get a picnic table, come early and stake one out
  • If picnic tables are full, bring a blanket or folding chair for grass area.
  • You are welcome to grab food from the Chuckwagon, Pizza and Pasta Company and/or the Grocery/Deli to eat while listening
  • There is a small bar (beer, wine, slushy drinks) set up outside for the event, but you can bring over alcohol purchased from the Dornan’s Wine Shop.
  • You cannot bring your own alcohol
  • BUG SPRAY! Do be sure to bring it and use it!! You need bug spray at all times in the park, but especially in the evening. Dornan’s is right by the Snake River, which means extra mosquitoes.
  • Jacket/Sweatshirt – no matter how hot it was in the day, sunset brings cooler temperatures.

Have fun and enjoy! If you end up going or have already been, be sure to tell us in the comments!
